What is ScaleUp Accelerator?

GDHCC, in partnership with Dallas County, is offering the ScaleUp Accelerator, a program available to entrepreneurs who would like to take their businesses to the next level. Seats are limited and those wanting to participate need to demonstrate commitment to comply with full scope of the program.

The program, supported by Dallas County, offers intensive training courses and one-on-one business advising from subject matter experts in different areas of business management.

The main objective of the ScaleUp Accelerator program is to help entrepreneurs grow and/or sustain their businesses by implementing successful business management methods, technology, access to capital and digital marketing.

What are the program benefits?

Participants enrolling in the program will learn how to reduce risks and improve business performance.
Other benefits of this program include:

10 intensive business clinics held weekly; each clinic is four hours in duration
One-on-one sessions with business consultants
Resources and tools to enhance your business operations and improve your competitive advantage, including e-Commerce and digital marketing
A success network of public and private sector procurement representatives, high-performing entrepreneurs, and representatives from other business resource agencies

Participants who successfully complete all program requirements will receive a graduation certificate and become eligible for a small business grant. During the program orientation, all participants will receive a detailed outline that clearly explains the expectations and requirements of the program.

How does it work?

The program consists of 3 stages described below.

STAGE 1: INQUIRE
Fill out the program interest form.
Your interest form will be reviewed by the program staff. If you meet the basic requirements, you will be notified by us to begin the evaluation process.

During this stage, participants will be interviewed and have to complete a series of assessments that will help our team discover their business’s limitations, assets, and their readiness for acceleration.

STAGE 2: INVEST
Invest your time and commitment to attend 10 weekly business clinics and complete the business plan presentation.

During this time, you will have the opportunity to meet with subject matter experts that will provide you with the technical assistance needed to help you grow and sustain your business.

STAGE 3: IMPACT
Apply what you have learned to be an Empowered CEO! You will have a successful network established through the relationships and contacts you developed through the intensive business clinics. These are connections that count – for procurement and contracting with B2G, B2B and B2C. Establish or improve your e-Commerce and digital marketing. Increase your bankability for access to capital.

How much does this program cost?

The Scale Up Accelerator is free of charge to all entrepreneurs that are wanting to ignite their business growth now that everyone is rebounding from the pandemic.
If you had to pay to attend this program, it would cost you approximately $25,000.
Since it is funded by Dallas County, if you are accepted into the program, this is a direct way your tax dollars are serving you.

What is required of me, the CEO of my business?

We need YOUR COMMITMENT! Since this program is only available to 20 participants per cohort, those selected to participate must commit to it – must commit to attending each business clinic and complete a series of assessments– a total of 10 business clinics offered weekly for four hours each and the business plan presentation.

Participants must also commit to meeting one-on-one with business advisors and staff, as necessary, to acquire a good working knowledge of specific business management methodologies.

Before submitting an interest form, please consider the following: your business must be state-registered and operational for at least a year.
Participating businesses must be registered or have a physical presence in Dallas County

Please note that enrollment is limited to 20 participants per cohort. The first cohort will be conducted in Spanish, and only those who meet all program criteria will be selected for participation.
