Akorbi Language Consulting: From Humble Beginnings to Global Language Service Provider
How the Dallas-Headquartered, Women-Owned Business Has Soared to Success
Just prior to starting her business, Akorbi Language Consulting, CEO and Co-Founder, Claudia Mirza had approached the Greater Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and asked them for a job. As her luck would have it, the Vice-President of Economic Development, Gabriela Quezada steered her in another direction and suggested that she open her own business…Quezada’s advice was more than sound. Mirza thought it over and started to do research. A couple of months later, the census data for the year 2000 was released and she read through it. The report made her realize that the growth of minority populations in the United States would continue to increase; she knew that this group was an excellent target market for the multicultural translations. EC Driving Provides Training to the Dallas Police Department!
EC Driving, LLC., a member business of the GDHCC Entrepreneur Program at the West Dallas Business Assistance Center since 2008, completed its first public entity contract with the City of Dallas this quarter. The Dallas Police Department contacted Angelica Gonzales, owner and CEO, to provide one-on-one behind-the-wheel training to six (6) officers.
